GH4169 nickel-based superalloy is widely applied in hot-section components of aero-engines, as well as high-temperature load-bearing structural parts for aerospace and energy industries.
Metallographic inspection plays a vital role. It visually evaluates grain size, gamma prime precipitation and harmful phase distribution, closely correlating with material strength, creep and fatigue properties.
Strict specimen preparation is required. Samples are ground progressively to eliminate scratches, then finely polished with diamond and oxide suspensions to achieve deformation-free mirror surface. Proper pressure and duration control prevent artificial defects, delivering authentic test data for process optimization and quality assessment.
